TownTrader Magazine: General Terms & Conditions of Trade
All adverts are accepted as bona fide and no responsibility is taken by TownTrader for the accuracy of statements made by advertisers or contributors. While all reasonable care is taken to ensure the accuracy of information contained within TownTrader, we accept no responsibility for any loss arising from adverts therein or any non-publication of adverts or information.
All adverts are accepted by TownTrader on the understanding that they are copyright free. This includes any images, logos, photos, trade logos, clip art or any other content that is used in the advert. The advertiser will acquire any necessary permission for the use of any images, logos, photos, trade logos, clip art or any other content that is used in their advert/article/content.
We reserve the right to accept or refuse any advertisements, or to cancel existing advertisements or contracts without notice if cause arises so to do, or at our own discretion. We also reserve the right to refuse advertisements which may be defamatory, offensive or illegal or which promote products that may be considered indecent. TownTrader reserves the right to edit at its discretion.
Payment is required upon receipt of invoice and before publication of the magazine. In the event of the payment not being received before publication, we reserve the right to cancel the advert without redress. In the event of payment being received for an advertisement but artwork or copy not being supplied by the deadline date, we reserve the right to retain all/part of monies paid if we are unable to rebook the advert space with another client before publication. Any advertisement can be cancelled without any cost to the advertiser if it is cancelled prior to any publication taking place, subject to this condition. Any design fee will still have to be paid for.
It is the advertiser’s responsibility to check the advert and ensure that it is correct at copy approval stage. No responsibility can be taken by TownTrader for any errors subsequently identified.
We do not offer any exclusivity to any one particular business, although we will consider the position of local franchised businesses. There could/will be other advertisers offering the same service as your business. We do not guarantee any position in the magazine except the cover pages.
Any adverts supplied in JPEG, PDF or any other pre-prepared format will be inserted in TownTrader as supplied and will be assumed not to require copy approval. These files should be supplied at a minimum of 300dpi, preferably in PDF format and with bleeds included for full page adverts. These files may be re-sized to fit the appropriate space. No responsibility can be taken for the print quality of any advert supplied at a lower resolution, and we reserve the right to refuse artwork if print quality may be compromised.
Any advert/article/design which TownTrader has created remains our property and cannot be used in another publication or advertising medium (e.g. website) without the written approval of ourselves.
TownTrader gives no guarantee of the level of response to adverts/articles etc. TownTrader is unable to offer a refund if no response is received. For the best chance of success, it is recommended that an advert is placed in three or more issues.
Advertisers must notify TownTrader that they wish to stop running their advert. Cancellations must be received before the deadline date for that issue. Deadline dates are available on request.
When an advertisement/article is booked verbally, by post or email you are agreeing to all the Terms and Conditions listed above.
Note: Where the term advert/advertisement is used this means any advertisement, editorial, article, or any other material (e.g. community content) supplied for publication.
These terms and conditions may be modified at any time.
